White Oak (Quercus alba)

E-mail this product to a friend

White Oak is one of the largest and most important lumber species of the white oak group reaching heights of 100 feet.  The wood of the white oak is strong, durable and beautiful and is used for carpentry, interior finishing and general construction.  When growing in the open, white oaks develop a broadly rounded crown with widely spreading branches, making it an excellent shade tree.  The leaves turn red or purple in the fall.  The acorns are very sweet and are eaten by deer, turkeys and many species of birds and mammals.
